Voromasher
Reframing the potato masher to be a center piece within a modern kitchen to encourage conversation and prestige. With a lesser focus on functionality the abstract forms can be explored through emergent additive manufacturing techniques and generative design principles.

Small form factor electronics are synonymous with daily life providing charge, data and other enhancements to our devices such as phones and laptops. However, these devices lack attachment to their user despite the functional impact they provide. To reduce disregard of these vital devices, what if a charger, SSD and USB dongle were seamlessly combined?
Due to the functional nature of the devices the products visual appearance was placed at the forefront of the design process in order to distinguish the devices from competing products. Inspiration was captured from designing forward brands such as Teenage Engineering and Joesph and Joesph to create a modern, clean and integrated unification of a GaN charger, portable SSD and USB hub.

An initial concept of the Voromasher, which captured the original design intent, however with ergonomic limitations.
Customisable Configurations
From user consultations it was found that the devices a user needs are different and dependent on the day and the event the user attending to. Hence, the devices must function in isolation and addition to a unified state. Capturing the metaphor of building blocks the interaction was created between modules, which is illustrated below.

Each of the modules can be used to their full function with and without the other modules.

ModuCharge Manufacturing
A PC outer has been employed on all modules of the ModuCharge, this provides additional reflectivity on the devices and elevates the colour of the ABS housing. Both components will be injection moulded for mass manufacture with minimal undercuts present to reduce the cost and increase the quality of the designs surface finish.
The prongs can be adjusted to a wide range of international standards to ensure universal comparability. Pogo pins are employed as the primary bridge between the modules in order to ensure a secure connection and function in isolation.
